Who we are

About

Tahmoor Coal is an underground coal mining operation situated in the Wollondilly region of New South Wales. We are located in Bargo, about 95km south west of Sydney.

We have been in operation since 1979, and since April 2018 have been owned and operated by SIMEC Mining, a member of the GFG Alliance.

Tahmoor Coal operates in the Bulli coal seam, producing premium-quality hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported via rail to Port Kembla for Australian domestic customers and export customers.

We currently have approval to produce up to 4 million tonnes of Run of Mine (ROM) coal per annum and operate 24 hours a day.

We employ around 400 employees and contractors and support many local and regional businesses and services in the Wollondilly Shire area.
